How cool is this?
ROMANCE REVIEWS has posted Paradise, A Masters of the Order Novel, on its MAIN PAGE
Isabella Rey learns a lot about life as an oncology nurse. It’s not until she faces challenges of her own that she realizes how precious life is. In PARADISE, author Jillian Verne pairs up a woman who is afraid to think about tomorrow with a man skilled enough to make her forget her fears. Jacques Meszaros is a member of the Order, a group that shares a common bond of dark fantasies. As a Dom, he knows just what Isabella needs. I found Isabella’s attitude about her illness to be quite realistic, especially for a caregiver. Her efforts to push away those around her were well described. Jacques’ determination is compelling because he is the epitome of a caring Dom. That trait comes in handy as he introduces Isabella into the submissive role in plenty of spicy scenes. Since this book has a significant international flavor, there are multiple instances where text appears in another language. While a certain amount can enhance a story, too much serves as a distraction — especially when dealing with three languages. I can see where heavily emotional situations might cause a character to lapse back into a native tongue, but too much interrupts the flow. As part of a series, the book provides an excellent springboard for future installments about the Order.
